It's the art of healing; beyond a technician, and mere relaxation

The Bodhi Conscious Muscle Tonic is a platform founded on combining the benefits of the Rolfing tenets of structural integration, deep tissue and therpeutic massage therapies. Three systems of soft tissue and structural manipulation, with movement education that organizes the whole body in gravity. Derived in part from Jennifer's training at the Rolf Institute, this system of bodywork affects the body’s posture and structure by manipulating the myofascial system (connective tissue). Often considered as a deep-tissue approach. Yet therapeutic bodywork differs, in that it actually targets all layers of the body to ease strain patterns affecting the entire system.

Therapeutic massages enable a more efficient muscle use, allowing the body to conserve energy, utilizing more economical and refined patterns of movement. It has been shown to significantly reduce chronic stress, and enhance neurological functioning. Especially beneficial for individuals recovering from physical trauma, for athletes, dancers, and performers.

People who seek therapeutic massages do so as a way to reduce pain and chronic muscle tension, generally resulting from physical and emotional traumas, aging or from overuse due repetitive work patterns. The therpeutic massage targets structural integration methods, providing helpful  movement education to professional athletes to help break up scar tissue, rehabilitate injuries, increase range of motion, improve performance and to avoid future injuries. Dancers and musicians often use this restorative approach to increase comfort in their bodies while performing, reduce the chances of repetitive stress injuries, and to improve body posture and structure over the long-term.

Typical massages often focuses on relaxation and temporary relief of muscle discomfort. However, the Bodhi Conscious Body Work is aimed at improving body alignment and functionality. It's very different from a basic deep-tissue massage, in that I am trained in the art of healing, to create overall ease and balance throughout the entire structure, rather than simply focusing on areas presented with tension. As a structure becomes more organized, chronic strain patterns are alleviated, and pain and stress decrease.

Bodhi Body Work is a healing modality that greatly improves conditions such as:

  • Chronic pain

  • Limited mobility

  • Recovery from injuries (e.g. whiplash, falls, sports injury)

  • Repetitive strain injury, such as carpal tunnel syndrome

  • Postural problems

  • Osteoarthritis pain

  • Fibromyalgia

  • Muscle tension or spasm
